Frequently Asked Questions…

Q. Seven Hills Hideaway – COVID-19 (Coronavirus)?
Here at Seven Hills Hideaway, our primary focus, as always, is on our guests health, safety and wellbeing, and at this uncertain time, that focus has not diminished but actually increased to meet the changing situation we are all faced with.  We would like to reassure our guests that we are following all government advice for the hospitality industry in which we exist, and also any generic travel advice as specified.  It is imperative that our guests feel confident whilst staying here and please be assured, we have taken a number of additional steps, firstly around our hygiene and cleaning regimes, which supplement our existing high standards for general and deep cleaning procedures, and also within our day-to-day activities.  These include:

– all our laundry is professionally cleaned by our specialist supply-chain partners

– all ‘high-traffic’ surfaces (including door handles, zips, switches, fixtures and fittings, handles and hygiene surfaces) are thoroughly deep-cleaned with anti-viral products

– all our cutlery and crockery are removed and re-cleaned between changeovers

– all our team will be utilising appropriate PPE and following enhanced personal hygiene guidelines

Seven Hills Hideaway benefits from being in a rural, remote countryside location.  Each of our three lodges are well-spaced with en-suite facilities (including shower, WC and hand basin), together with private, designated outside space which gives all our guests plenty of fresh, clean air.

At present, with no internal travel restrictions within the UK, Seven Hills Hideaway is fully open to welcome our guests from Friday 27th March 2020.  However, if any government advice changes, we will be monitoring the situation closely.  This FAQ will be updated as necessary to reflect any new advice or guidelines.

Q. How many people does each safari tent sleep?
We have 3 canvas safari lodges which sleep up to 6 guests each. We do not allow extra guests above our maximum occupancy.

Q. Do you allow people to pitch tents?
No, sorry we don’t have a campsite here.

Q. Do you have hot tubs?
Yes, each of our canvas safari lodges have a private electric hot tub for you to hire during your stay which is located at the back of your lodge. Please make sure you read the hot tub disclaimer before hiring this option.  These are emptied and sanitised between each changeover and checked daily and as required in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Q. When can we ‘check in’ and ‘check out’?
Check in is at 4pm. Each safari tent is cleaned and prepared between guests and the hot tub water gets changed between guests so please do not arrive early as sadly your lodge won’t be ready for you.  Check out is at 10am.  Our lodges and hot tubs need to be cleaned and prepared ready for our next guests.

Q. Can we bring out pets?
Yes, we welcome up to two well-behaved dogs if you are staying in either Skirrid Fawr or Sugar Loaf.  Please be aware that dogs must always kept on a lead as we have animals on the farm and please do not leave them unattended in the tents.  Ensure you read our Dog Guest rules prior to booking.

Q. Is there electricity in the tents?
Yes, we have low voltage sockets in the canvas lodges which are suitable for charging mobile phones. There is a small electric fridge in each unit, LED lights and rechargeable lanterns. All portable electrical equipment supplied in your lodge is tested by a qualified electrician every year. For you personal safety and to comply with our insurance, please do not bring extension leads, heaters, fridges, etc.

Q. Is there a BBQ?
Outside each canvas safari lodge there is your own private BBQ area with a picnic table. Charcoal can be purchased on site.

Q. Do You have WiFi?
There is WiFi just outside the farm house that you can use. Although it’s not very fast, it’s ok for messaging and checking emails. There is no WiFi in the lodges. Phone signal can be intermittent here, but EE works best. Embrace the digital detox and connect with nature!

Q. Where is the nearest shop?
Abergavenny is just over 4 miles away. There are several big supermarkets in Abergavenny as well as some lovely local shops, and local markets. We really like to encourage all our guests to buy local when they are staying here, when they can.

Q. Do you accept Hen/Stag parties?
We accept hen parties, but all 3 canvas safari lodges would have to be booked – please contact us first to make sure we meet your criteria in what you are looking for. Sorry, but we don’t accept stag parties.
